This is a reusable system. Use it over and over, Compared to other systems that do not actively control semen temperature, Ship-mate slowly cools down and holds the temperature at exactly 5°C/41°F. This makes a huge difference in semen viability even on shipments that take up to 3 days. And it is small so overnight and return shipping costs are considerably less.

Ice packs in the shipping container cool the specimen, but there is no way to control the rate at that the specimen is cooled or the final temperature that it is cooled. The results are inconsistent and unreliable.

Shipmate's Superior Technology: Traditional semen shipping methods often use passive systems that rely on ice packs to cool the specimen. However, this approach lacks precise temperature control, leading to inconsistent and unreliable results.
In contrast, Shipmate takes control of both the cooling rate and the final temperature of the specimen. It employs a double-walled stainless steel flask encased in ice packs within an insulated foam shipping box. This unique design prevents rapid cooling, which can cause Cold Shock or freezing.
The secret behind Shipmate's success lies in its advanced technology, including a microprocessor, temperature sensor, heater, and memory. These components work together to ensure the specimen's temperature is measured and controlled with precision.
The specimen undergoes a carefully controlled cooling process, starting with a cooling rate of 0.5°C per minute until it reaches 18°C. Then, it is gradually cooled at a rate of 1°C every 20 minutes to precisely 5°C, the optimal temperature for semen preservation. This slow cooling process prevents Cold Shock and maintains the specimen's viability.
The entire process is automated with Shipmate, requiring no setup. Simply load the box with ice packs, insert a fresh D-cell alkaline battery, and let Shipmate take care of the rest. (For longer trips, additional ice packs and a larger insulated box may be needed.)

We understand as breeders that often your orders are needed quickly. At this point in time we are still able to ship out your order within 24 hours during business days. Often your order may leave the same day it is ordered depending on how hectic things are and the time of day.
If your order is ordered after 11:30 AM MST on Friday it will not ship out until Monday.

We ship with Purolator, UPS and Canada Post and you should choose the shipping that best meets your needs.
With Canada Post if you order on Monday for Example Monday is not counted in the time frame. I have also noticed that Canada Post typically will estimate the Delivery Date on your tracking as the last possible day within the delivery standard.
UPS Express Saver or Purolator Express are Typically the Fastest and Most reliable. The ETA given by the Courier is not always accurate. TBC is not Liable for Late Shipments. We can put a late claim refund request in with the courier you chose but they rarely pay them out unfortunately. Shipping Protection does not cover a late shipment.
Express orders are 1-3 Business days and not always 1 day that is estimated. If you need it the next day you may want to check with us to see what they are estimating in our system. We do not control the posted transit times at checkout.
The Breeder's Cupboard has no control over and are in no way responsible for shipping times, delays and lost parcels. We are happy to assist in any way possible if there are issues with the courier service. Please consider the shipping protection to ensure we can replace any lost parcels. The couriers cover a maximum amount of $100 without shipping protection. TBC will not be able to replace orders past $100 without shipping protection. It does not cover late orders.

Returning Items
With The Breeders Cupboard 45 -day web return policy. All we ask is that you send the items back to us in the original packaging, and make sure that the merchandise is in the same, new condition. The customer is responsible for the cost of return shipping. If the return is the result of an error made on our part we will cover the cost of shipping. Shipping fees are non-refundable unless the return is a result of a product defect or shipping error. Return Shipping Charges are not covered by TBC and the customers responsibility Unless it is our error or a defective product. We will need the invoice or order number included in your return.

Supplements must be unopened. Please note that we are not responsible for allergies and your dogs/cats not liking the taste. While we do note in product descriptions when the taste is commonly not liked we cannot guarantee your animal will eat every supplement as treat or a topper.
If you’d like to exchange your product for something else, please proceed with placing a new order. Placing the new order right away will ensure that you’ll get your item(s) quickly and that it won’t go out of stock. A full refund will be issued once your returned product is received and processed. So long as the item is in the condition you received it and with the original box and/or packaging. The shipping charges and any return shipping charges will be deducted from the refund.
Once your return is received and (usually within 72 hours of receipt), your refund will be processed and a credit will be automatically applied to your credit card or original method of payment within 3 days. Please note that depending on your credit card company, it may take an additional 5 business days after your credit is applied for it to appear in your account. In total it can take up to 10 Business Days to see the refund on your end.
